Apollo Automation is a US company that builds ESPHome sensors for Home Assistant. Each sensor ships with the firmware already installed, so there is nothing to flash before you start. Connect it to your Wi-Fi and Home Assistant discovers it through the ESPHome integration.

The firmware is open source and Apollo publishes it on GitHub. You can read the configuration, take the device into your own ESPHome set-up and change it. The sensors are fully local. They talk to Home Assistant over your own network, with no cloud account.
